This air-fried tonkatsu keeps everything people love — the crispiness, the flavor, the comfort — without the heavy oil, extra calories, or greasy feeling afterward. You get a protein-rich, lighter Japanese classic that fits beautifully into a balanced diet.

Ingredients (2–3 servings)
1lb pork tenderloin or pork chops
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
¼ cup flour
2 eggs, beaten (or egg white for even lighter option)
11/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 tbsp neutral oil or oil spray
Tonkatsu sauce (optional sauce, I recommend Bull Dog Tonkatsu Sauce)
Shredded cabbage (optional garnish)
Instructions
1. Prep the Pork
Pound to ½ inch thickness and season lightly.
2. Bread
Flour → egg → panko (lightly coated with oil or sprayed so it crisps).
3. Air Fry
Preheat to 360°F
Air fry 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway
Cook until golden and internal temp is 145°F (63°C)
4. Serve
Slice, drizzle with tonkatsu sauce, and pair with shredded cabbage for fiber and freshness.
Even Healthier Tips
Use whole-wheat panko for extra fiber.
Swap pork for chicken breast for lower calories.
Pair with miso soup, steamed veggies, or brown rice to make it a balanced meal.
Use low-sodium tonkatsu sauce or make your own to control sugar content.
